SuVon Treece always had a natural talent for the arts. As a child she was never without paper and pencil and her love for the arts grew more and more as the years progressed. During her sophomore year of high school, SuVon was accepted into the Detroit High School of the Fine and Performing Arts where she majored in visual arts. There, SuVon continued to develop her fine art skills, learning basic design fundamentals and developing her own personal style.
SuVon graduated cum laude from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she received a BFA with a concentration in graphic design. While in college, SuVon’s focus was in graphic design but she never abandoned her love for fine arts. She took a number of various art classes to continue to bring her art skills to a higher level. Drawing and attention to detail has always been SuVon’s love and she continues to express that through her work.
“Graphic design is something I truly enjoy.” SuVon says. “I feel that being a fine artist really benefits me as a designer and I love to incorporate the two art forms whenever a project permits that type of creativity.”
SuVon currently offers graphic design and web design services through her company CompuArt Design and is the Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer for the Detroit Department of Transportation. Along with her sister Siana Treece, SuVon established Artistic Expressions Gallery in 2008. Together, these sisters have held various art shows in both Detroit and Chicago including their Art & Charity events which not only feature their own works but gives local artists a platform while giving back to charity at the same time. For nearly the past ten years, their events have become something that the community looks forward to supporting annually.
SuVon has also displayed works in numerous joint exhibitions and has won awards in local and national competitions.
